Willing Workers On Organic Farms

There are sleeping facilities for up to 10 people in stone rooms and caravans. There are blankets and towels, but in winter you need to bring a sleeping bag. Work clothes can be supplied. A compost toilet and showers heated by the sun are used. There is no hot running water in winter, nor cold in summer! Meals are prepared on a gas stove in the communal kitchen. Food is mainly vegetarian, coming from the garden as much as possible. There are always between 2 and 8 wwoofers here. Paola speaks German, French, Spanish and English

Daily work consists of feeding, cleaning and maintaining the animals, planting, caring for and harvesting vegetables and fruits in the garden, preserving them, and general repairing and maintaining of the property. At certain times of year crops may be planted. However work is not limited to these everyday tasks. Projects like building new structures may be in progress - currently there are plans for a sewage treatment plant, straw storage and various fences. You are expected to work 6 hours a day for 6 days a week.Work is not always directed – everyone is encouraged to come up with their own ideas for projects and to find things to do, especially if you have particular skills or interests. It is not neccesary for you to have any knowledge before coming here, its only necessary for you to be motivated and willing to work and learn. Furthermore, we expect a minimum stay of 6 weeks or any time more from our wwoofers, as there are numerous tasks and specific things to be done and watched out for all around, that it takes some time to learn and be a real help for us.

Garden

Production of own food on ecolologic basse.

We have a beautiful and quite big garden. The work in the garden (planting, sowing, weeding, pruning, etc.) is done according the “lunar calendar”. We grow the vegetables for our own use. We try to grow organicly. The garden is irrigated by drip irrigation (black pipes with a little dripers). We get water thanks to generator (which is run by disel).

We produce our own seeds (if it is possible) and compost (any organic matter collect around the farm shall be composted).

We search for people with some experience in gardening but also we are open for new ideas and experiments in the garden…….so if you want to try gardening or if you want to create your own “oasis” you are welcome to come…….
